Herbal First Aid Workshop
The plants that grow around us have long been trusted companions for life’s little scrapes, bumps, and stings. In this two-and-a-half-hour gathering at Wild Thistle Herbs & Alchemy, we’ll step into the gentle world of herbal first aid and explore how simple preparations can bring comfort in everyday moments.
Together we’ll meet allies like plantain (Plantago spp.), calendula (Calendula officinalis), chamomile (Matricaria recutita), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), and yarrow (Achillea millefolium) — herbs that soothe, cool, and tend to the body with a soft touch. You’ll learn to craft remedies such as washes, salves, poultices, and even a styptic powder, and you’ll create something of your own to carry home. We’ll also dream up what an herbal first aid kit might look like, with thoughtful additions like fire cider for seasonal support and horehound (Marrubium vulgare) for those lingering coughs.
