Fired Up: A Fire Cider Making Workshop

🔥 Fired Up🔥

A Fire Cider Making Workshop

Fire cider has been a staple of folk herbalism for generations, and for good reason. This pungent, zesty vinegar infusion has a long history of traditional use, and once you taste it, you'll understand why it has stood the test of time. (And yes, it makes an absolutely incredible salad dressing too.)'

What is Fire Cider?

Fire cider is a vinegar-based tonic rooted in herbal traditions. Packed with ingredients like garlic, ginger, horseradish, rosemary, and onions, it offers a bold, invigorating flavor that’s as functional as it is delicious.

We'll gather in a small group, learn about the history and tradition behind fire cider, and then get to work. You'll chop, layer, and craft your own individual batch using traditional ingredients like ginger, onions, garlic, and fresh herbs from the garden, then take your creation home to do its magic.

All materials and supplies are included. No prior herbal experience needed.

Herb to Bottle: A Hands-On Tincture Making Workshop

Hands-On Tincture Making Workshop

This is the class so many of you have been asking for, and it's finally here.

There's something deeply satisfying about making your own herbal preparations. Knowing exactly what went in, feeling the weight of the jar in your hands, and walking away with something you made yourself from plants you've come to love and trust. Tinctures are one of the most effective, versatile, and time-honored tools in an herbalist's kit, and in this hands-on workshop, you'll learn to make them well.

Whether you've been curious about tinctures for a while or you're ready to take your herbal practice to the next level, this class was designed with you in mind. We'll slow down, go deep, and make sure you leave with both the skills and the confidence to keep going at home.

What We'll Cover

This class is part discussion, part hands-on making. We'll explore the foundational knowledge every home herbalist needs when working with tinctures, including:

  • Menstruum and marc: what they are and why they matter

  • Ratios and how to use them

  • Plant energetics and plant properties

  • How to prepare your tinctures properly

  • Dosage: how much, how often, and how to adjust

  • Usage: when to reach for a tincture and how to incorporate it into daily life

  • Practical tips for continuing your practice at home

This isn't a surface-level overview. We're going to dig in, ask questions, and make sure the information actually sticks.

What We'll Make

We'll be crafting two gentle and effective tinctures together: Hawthorn (Crataegus spp.) and Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum), also known as Holy Basil. Both are deeply nourishing plant allies and make a beautiful introduction to the world of tincture-making. You'll leave with both tinctures in process, needing only time before they're ready to press and use at home.

What's Included

  • All materials and supplies

  • Both handcrafted tinctures to take home

  • In-depth instruction and plenty of time for questions

  • A warm, welcoming space to learn alongside other plant lovers

No prior experience needed. If you've never made a tincture before, you are in exactly the right place. If you have some experience and want to deepen your understanding, there will be plenty here for you, too.

Into the Flames: An End-of-Year Fire Ritual

Into the Flames: An End-of-Year Fire Ritual

As the year winds down, we often carry more than we need — habits, heaviness, clutter, or energy that no longer serves us. Left unacknowledged, these things can weigh us down.

This gathering is a chance to pause, reflect, and release. We’ll begin indoors with warm tea and a short reading on the power of letting go. You’ll be invited to write down anything you’re ready to release. Then, together, we’ll gather at the fire and offer our words to the flames.

Fire transforms — it consumes and clears, turning what was heavy into ash and smoke. When we release in community, that act is magnified, the shared energy of letting go amplifying our own intentions.

🌿 Tea will be served
🌸 The apothecary will be open before and after the event
✨ This is a FREE community gathering
👥 Adults only
Rain or shine — we’ll gather by the firepace inside if needed

Come as you are, ready to set down what you don’t wish to carry into the new year and step forward with a lighter heart.

Complete the form below to RSVP for this event. If you’re inviting a friend, please complete a separate form for them.
