Herbal Incense Crafting

A Make & Take Workshop

Step away from the noise of daily life and immerse yourself in the beauty and fun of working with plants in a whole new way.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the art of crafting herbal incense, a tradition that blends plant wisdom, aroma, and intention. You’ll learn about several herbs chosen for their aromatic and energetic qualities, along with simple techniques for making your own natural incense blends at home.

I am thrilled to welcome Michelle Pelfrey of Liminal Space Studio, visiting from Dallas, to lead this special class. Michelle brings her love of ritual, plant connection, and creative crafting to guide you through the process.

Some of the herbs we’ll be working with come straight from the Wild Thistle Herbs & Alchemy teaching garden, giving you a chance to experience these plant allies from seed to smoke.

Together, we’ll cover:
🌿 An introduction to herbs traditionally used for incense
🌿 Aromatic and energetic properties of our chosen plants
🌿 How to create loose herbal incense and form simple incense cones
🌿 Tips for burning and using your incense with intention

This is a make-and-take workshop—each participant will leave with their own handcrafted incense to enjoy at home, along with a detailed handout containing instructions on how to make these at home anytime you’d like.

In addition to class:
🍵 We’ll have a selection of herbal tea available to sip and enjoy while you’re crafting incense.
🌿 The Wild Thistle Herbs & Alchemy apothecary will be open for browsing. Discover a selection of handcrafted herbal goods, teas, and more.
✨ Michelle Pelfrey will also have a small collection of offerings from her Dallas studio available.

Whether you’re curious about incorporating herbs into your self-care rituals, love working with your hands, or simply want a relaxing, creative morning, this class offers the perfect opportunity to slow down and connect with the plants.
